Low-pressure cleaning (Pigging)

Pigging is the most efficient practice for cleaning of the long-distance piping systems with limited access.

Scale, wax or other debris left to accumulate in a pipeline leads to the restricted throughput which is followed by loss in efficiency and increase in operating costs. Therefore, we recommend the pigging technology as the best solution for cleaning of piping systems to maximize their operational reliability.

Pigging refers to the practice of using a device known as “pig” inserted into an oversized section in the pipeline to push it along down the pipe and flush the line with water. In view of the purpose and technical characteristics of the piping systems we may offer the pigs with diverse range of length, diameter and configuration to be used for cleaning of the piping systems with diameter from 50 mm up 300 mm.

  • Pigging advantages:
  • Cost-efficient solution for cleaning of the long-distance piping systems with limited access
  • Complete removal of sedimentation or scale buildup from the pipe walls
  • Possibility of cleaning a particular section of the piping
  • Possibility to clean very long piping runs with no cutting
  • Possibility to clean the systems with elbows, pipe bends, tee joints, and pipe joints
  • Protection of the internal pipe surface from damage resulting in the extended useful life
  • Less time required for cleaning which is followed by equipment downtime reduction
  • No adverse effects on the environment
  • One of the safest ways of cleaning involving no risk of injuries caused by high pressure or high temperature
